According to a report by Palestinian Media Watch, the Fatah facebook page posted the picture of the Palestinian terrorist who performed this crime and declared, “A picture of the settler who was killed today at the Al-Za'atara military checkpoint, in south Nablus, by the hero, the released prisoner, Salam As'ad Al-Zaghal from Tulkarem. Palestinian Terrorist Murders Father of Five Children

31-year-old Evyatar Borovsky, a resident of Yitzhar and father of five children, of whom the eldest was just seven years of age, was murdered by Palestinian terrorists. The terrorist, who was a resident of Tulkarm, arrived at the Tapuach Junction in Samaria with the express purpose of killing Jews. This represented the first stabbing terror attack where an Israeli was murdered since 2011. However, last January, a 17-year-old Israeli was stabbed yet was treated for moderate wounds at the very same hitch-hiking post. Israeli & Palestinian Universities Collaborate For Clean Water

The Technion, known as Israel’s MIT, is working along with Al Quds University, a Palestinian institution for higher learning in Abu Dis, in order to attempt to remove pharmaceutical residues from waste-water, an environmental problem that plagues both Israeli and Palestinian societies. Presently, whenever one takes any sort of medication, the residue of the medications get mixed up with the water supply whenever someone uses the bathroom. The re-used water then seeps into agricultural crops and adversely affects the environment. Both the Technion and Al Quds University are committed to collaborating to fix this health hazard that harms ecosystems within the Holy Land. ...

Understanding Lag B’Omer

In Israel, months before the advent of the festival of Lag B’Omer -- the 33rd day of the Omer, the 49 days that bridge between Passover and Shavuot -- one can see youngsters dragging all types of combustibles, from fallen trees to broken chairs to old mattresses. Their destination? The nearest empty lot, where they pile their treasured possessions to impossible heights and wait with eager anticipation until the night of Lag B'Omer, arguably their favorite time of year, when they turn the piles into enormous conflagrations. Ask anyone what the bonfires are for, and you'll be told they are in celebration of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, a great sage who lived and taught approximately half a century after the destruction of the second Temple....

Israeli Company Helps Address World’s Water Crisis

Access to fresh clean drinking water is one of the world’s greatest environmental issues. The United Nations claims that 1.2 billion people, who consist of one fifth of the world population, live in areas of clean water scarcity. “About 97 percent of the world’s water is saltwater or polluted water,” says Shimmy Zimels, CEO of Jerusalem-based SunDwater. This situation forces many countries to drill expensive wells, buy bottled water, or even use contaminated water despite the health risks associated with drinking unclean water. Indeed, most of the people suffering from acute shortages in clean drinking water live in developing countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. ...

Berkeley Student Senate Votes to Divest from Israel

The Associated Students of the University of California Senate voted 11-9 to support divesting $14 million from Caterpillar, Hewlett Packard and Cement Roadstone Holding due to their support for the State of Israel and Jewish communities within Judea and Samaria. The debate was very heated and went on for eleven hours. The divestment resolution, titled “A Bill in Support of Human Rights in the West Bank and Gaza,” labeled Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians to being akin to anti-semitism, Islamophobia, and racism; compared Israel’s presence in Judea and Samaria to apartheid, foreign occupation, and colonialism; and claimed funding Israel’s security apparatus to be akin to supporting Palestinian terror groups. In the resolution, Israel was compared to the apartheid regime in South Africa and the Sudanese regime. ...
