Five Kassam rockets hit Israel on Tuesday after at least 50 rockets and mortar shells were fired on Monday.  One rocket landed in the city of Netivot while the other four fell into open areas in the Negev.  No injuries or even damage were reported.   In Monday’s attacks, at least two buildings were damaged and many goats from a children’s animal corner were killed.

In response to these attacks, the Israeli Air Force bombed a tunnel used by terrorists to smuggle weapons into the Gaza Strip.  The IDF released the following statement: “The IDF will not tolerate any attempt to harm Israeli citizens and IDF soldiers and will continue to operate against anyone who operates terror against Israel.”  In other security news, IDF soldiers caught two Palestinians who were armed with an improvised explosive device at the entrance to the Samaria Regional Brigade headquarters.   IDF sappers detonated the explosive in a controlled manner and the suspects were interrogated by security personnel.  Their interrogation revealed that they were sent to that location from the West Bank city of Shechem (Nablus).
