jerusalem Violent Riots in Jerusalem, Judea & Samaria

In recent days, Palestinian rioters have intensified their initiation of violent clashes with Israeli forces in order to demonstrate solidarity with four Palestinian terrorists that were released as part of the Gilad Shalit deal yet were re-captured for violating the terms of their pardon. These four Palestinian terrorists are Samer Issawi, Tareq Qaadan, Jafar Ezzedine and Ayman Sharawna, and they are presently on hunger strike.

Recently, another Palestinian terrorist on hunger strike, Arafat Jaradat, passed away because he refused to eat. This has added ammunition to the Palestinian Authority's desire to initiate disturbances.

purim Ceasfire Broken: Rockets from Gaza Hit Ashkelon

This week terrorists from Gaza fired kassam rockets at Israel for the first time since the conclusion of the Operation Pillar of Defense operation in late 2012. One rocket hit the industrial area within Ashkelon, causing some damage to a road, while a second one hit an open field near the city.

These rockets represent a blatant violation of Hamas' cease-fire agreement with Israel, which stated quite clearly that Gazan terror groups should refrain from firing qassam rockets into Israel.

'Book of Esther' in Sign Language for the Hearing Impaired

The need for the deaf and the hearing impaired to participate in the mitzvah of listening to the Megillah (Book of Esther) being read is definitely there. 18,000 Israeli citizens are deaf, while an additional 200,000 Israelis are hearing impaired.

However, the communication difficulties that accompany one losing their ability to hear often prevents' deaf people from fully participating in Jewish religious rituals.

Purim Baskets for Victims of Terror - A Huge Success!

We are happy to report that United with Israel's Purim Campaign for Israel's victims of terror was a huge success! Hundreds of Purim baskets, absolutely gorgeous - filled with tons of holiday treats - were very much appreciated by the families.

We visited with some of these heroic families and were thrilled to see first-hand how well the Purim goodies were received. The toys were an added touch for the special children who have suffered so much.
