Fish Farms in the Desert: Only in Israel!
Israel’s Arava desert gets just 30 millimeters of rainfall a year, but it produces 60 percent of Israel’s fresh vegetable exports, 10% of cut flower exports … and now it has a thriving ornamental fish industry, too.
“The desert is dry and all the water that we have here first of all is water that we drill here in the Arava; we’re not connected to a national water system,” explains Alon Gadiel, director of the Arava Research and Development Center. Yet Israel is in the top six exporting countries for aquarium fish, and there are now 18 fish farms in the Arava. Three of them breed the clownfish better known as Nemos because of the hit movie “Finding Nemo.”

Palestinians Choose Hatred Over Clean Water
If you want to understand the real reason why the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been unsolvable for decades, one fact suffices: Palestinian leaders and activists would rather deprive their entire population of fresh water than allow an Israeli company to land a contract.

“We recently told them that if Israel accepted to free prisoners and allow us to re-arm the police then we would again sit at the same table as Netanyahu,” Abbas said at a press conference in France.
Abbas also defended his demand for a complete construction freeze, saying it was not a true precondition.

Are We Still Living with the Spies?
As we pray at the Western Wall and gaze up at the Temple Mount, we wonder why there is no Holy Temple today. In place of the magnificent House of God, there are silver and gold domed Islamic structures – and no Jews.
Although we do not claim or even attempt to understand the ways of God, we do know that the day set aside for the destruction of both Temples, the 9th of Av, had its roots in the times of Moses.
This day of destruction was destined for tragedy when the Jewish people accepted the slanderous “report of horrors” that they received from the delegation of spies. But it wasn’t supposed to be that way.
