Israeli Citizens Protest the Release of Terrorists
United States
Secretary of State John Kerry has brought Israeli and Palestinian officials
back to the negotiating table in Washington but not without a price. As a
pre-requisite to peace talks, the Palestinian Authority has demanded the
release of 104 Palestinian prisoners many of them convicted terrorists guilty
of murder. Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has complied in order to
jump start the peace process but not without resistance. Recent protests in
Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, attended by hundreds of Israelis, reflect the outrage
of Israel's citizens over Netanyahu's decision.
Polls have shown
that 85% of the Israeli public is opposed to the release of Palestinian
terrorists with blood on their hands. Terror victims' organizations have been
very vocal in opposition to the government's decision and receive support from
Israelis across the political spectrum.

PM Netanyahu: Palestinian Incitement Undermines
Peace
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent a letter to US Secretary of State John
Kerry highlighting continued Palestinian incitement to hatred, despite ongoing
peace negotiations. "Incitement and peace cannot coexist," Netanyahu
said. "Rather than educate the next generation of Palestinians to live in
peace with Israel, this hate education poisons them against Israel and lays the
ground for continued violence, terror and conflict."
In his letter to Kerry, Netanyahu referenced Palestinian leader Abbas'
statement, "In a final resolution, we would not see the presence of a single
Israeli - civilian or soldier - on our lands." Netanyahu also criticized a
Palestinian broadcaster who described "Palestine" as reaching from
Rosh HaNikra to Eilat.

New Jewish Homes Planned for Judea and Samaria
The Civil Administration in Judea and Samaria recently authorized construction
of 878 new Jewish homes within greater Israel, most of them located beyond the
Green Line.
While construction was officially approved several weeks ago, the process was
postponed ostensibly to facilitate American efforts to jump-start peace
negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians.

Welcome Young Immigrants Joining the IDF
This week, 125 young men and women from North America journeyed on a group
flight to Israel, to realize their dream of joining the Israel Defense Forces.
According to Yael Katsman, director of communications at Nefesh B'Nefesh, an
organization that helps new immigrants, almost all of these young Jewish men
and women are "lone soldiers," without familial support in Israel,
who will join the already 2,800 others like them in the IDF.
