Israel Responds to Rocket Attack from Lebanon
According to an
IDF spokesperson, "Civilians in Israel's northern region faced rocket fire from
Southern Lebanon." Of the four rockets fired, two landed in residential
areas, with one damaging property and cars in the city of Acre and the second
landing in Kibbutz Gesher Haziv. No casualties were reported. Israel's Iron
Dome missile defense system intercepted a third rocket. Israel National News
reported that Israel responded to the attack with an airstrike targeting a
terror base south of Beirut.
In response to the
attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, "We are operating on
all fronts, in the north and south, in order to protect the citizens of Israel
from these attacks...we are using a variety of measures - of both defense and
prevention - and we are operating in a responsible manner.
