Tens of thousands of Jews gathered at the Western Wall for the priestly blessings – “Birkat Kohanim.”  These blessings are recited as part of the daily services in Israel but a special effort is made on the holidays for there to be a large gathering of “priests” who are descendants of Aaron the high priest (brother of Moses) at the Western Wall for a massive blessing ceremony.

The blessing comes from Numbers 6:23-27 where Aaron and his sons are commanded to bestow the following blessing on the Jewish people: “May the LORD bless you and guard you, May the LORD make His face shed light upon you and be gracious unto you, May the LORD lift up His face unto you and give you peace.”

The return of tens of thousands of worshipers to the Western Wall, right alongside the site of the ancient Temple, is a magnificent sight to behold.  The following video demonstrates the magnitude of the event with thousands of “priests” chanting the blessings and tens of thousands listening and receiving the blessings:
