US presidential candidate Bernie Sanders compared Baltimore’s poorest neighborhoods to the “West Bank in Palestine,” where, he alleged, the infant mortality rate is significantly higher.

Sanders is either totally ignorant or completely obsessed with siding with the Palestinians against Israel – or both. In a campaign speech Saturday in Baltimore that had nothing to do with the Arab-Israeli conflict, he managed to bring it in, conveying the alleged poverty in the “West Bank in Palestine.”

Discussing his socialist agenda and the economic situation in the US, he claimed that the poorest neighborhoods in Baltimore have a high infant mortality rate similar to that in the “West Bank in Palestine.” His comments were booed by the crowd.

First of all, there is no Palestine! Second, there is no basis to that claim. Second, in communities throughout the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank (Judea and Samaria), a surprising degree of luxury exists besides the poverty.
