PortugueseAfter a brutal 30-year incarceration, Jonathan Pollard left his US Federal Correction facility in Butner, North Carolina with his wife Esther to begin his life anew in New York.
Pollard’s wife and a number of his closest confidantes were waiting to greet him as he was released at 4:15 am EST.
Among many other things, he is forbidden from speaking to the press, hence his lack of comments upon being freed.
Though he may be out of prison, he is far from being truly free. A probation officer will be assigned to him to ensure that he stays within the many limitations that have been placed on him.
Controversy remains over the conditions of this parole, especially since President Obama and top-ranking officials have refused to intervene.
