A popular, but false claim made by Palestinians is that their ancient ancestors lived in the area known as Israel today, long before the Jewish people conquered it. Here is the truth.

Saeb Erekat, the chief Palestinian negotiator, claimed on February 1, 2014 that he is a descendant of people who lived in the land of Israel for 10,000 years. Based on this false version of his family history, he claims that he cannot recognize the legitimacy of Israel today.

In reality, according to his family page on Facebook, he actually descends from Jordan and has NO TRUE historical connection to Israel. Just like the Palestinian Arabs of today. Here is the truth.
