The first “Zionist” was G-d Himself who ordered Abraham to leave his father’s home and to travel to “the land that I will show you.” Abraham passed into the land as far as the site of Shechem until the Plain of Moreh; and G-d came to him and said, “To your offspring I will give this land (Genesis 12:3-7).” G-d repeats his promise to Abraham over and over again, “I will give to you and to your offspring after you the land of your sojourns-the whole of the land of Canaan-as an everlasting possession; and I shall be a G-d to them (ibid 17:8).” Not to be confused by which descendents G-d was talking about He repeats the promise to Jacob specifying, “I am G-d, the G-d of Abraham your father and the G-d of Isaac; the ground upon which you are lying to you will I give it and to your descendants (the Jews) (ibid 28:13).”

Even though G-d promised the Land to Jacob’s descendants Israel acquired the land through military conquest. Parts of it, such as Hebron and the area of the Temple Mount, Moriah, were paid for at a high price; the real estate transactions recorded for eternity.

“David said to Ornan, ‘Give me the site of the threshing floor, so that I may build an alter to G-d in it. Give it to me for the full price.’

Ornan said to David, ‘Take it for yourself, and let my lord the king do whatever is proper in his eyes.’

But Kind David said to Ornan, ‘No; I shall buy it for the full price, for I shall not offer to G-d that which is yours, nor offer up a free burnt-offering!’ So David gave Ornan for the place gold shekels weighing six hundred (Chronicles I 21:22-26).”

King Salomon later “built the Temple of G-d in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where He had appeared to his father David. He established at David’s place, on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite (Ch II 3:1).”

The Holy Temple no longer stands; its building structure in ruins. However there will come a time when it will be rebuilt and when Zion and the Temple Mount will return to its rightful owners.

What is Zionism? What is Biblical Zionism? It is nothing new. Biblical Zionism describes plain facts straight from the Bible, Prophets, and Writings about the Holy Land of Israel, Zion, and about its owners, the Nation of Israel.
