Em sua primeira viagem internacional enquanto Ministro das Rela\u00e7\u00f5es de Israel, Gabi Ashkenazi visitou hoje em Berlim, o Memorial aos Judeus Mortos da Europa durante o holocausto nazista. A seu lado, estava o Ministro das Rela\u00e7\u00f5es Exteriores dos Emirados \u00c1rabes Unidos, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, que disse: \u201ceste memorial perpetua a mem\u00f3ria daqueles que ca\u00edram, v\u00edtimas do extremismo e do \u00f3dio\u201d.<\/p>\n

A convite de Heiko Maas, Ministro das Rela\u00e7\u00f5es Exteriores da Alemanha, Ashkenazi e bin Zayed chegaram hoje a Berlim onde se encontraram oficialmente pela primeira vez, desde a assinatura do acordo de paz entre Israel e os Emirados \u00c1rabes. Ashkenazi voou a Berlim em um Airbus da for\u00e7a a\u00e9rea alem\u00e3 enviado especialmente a Tel Aviv, para transportar o chanceler e sua delega\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

\u201cEm Berlim, onde ficava a sede do quartel-general da besta nazista, que decretou o destino de 6 milh\u00f5es de pessoas do meu povo e os mandou para cremat\u00f3rios e c\u00e2maras de g\u00e1s. Eu, como Ministro das Rela\u00e7\u00f5es Exteriores de Israel e como ex-comandante de seu ex\u00e9rcito, estou aqui em sil\u00eancio, ao lado dos Ministros das Rela\u00e7\u00f5es Exteriores da Alemanha e dos Emirados \u00c1rabes. Nossa presen\u00e7a neste lugar, simboliza o in\u00edcio de uma nova era. Uma era de paz entre povos. Nossas assinaturas neste livro de mem\u00f3rias \u00e9 um grito e um juramento coletivo, lembrar e n\u00e3o esquecer, ser forte e prometer, nunca mais\u201d, escreveu Gabi Ashkenazi no livro de visitantes do memorial do holocausto.<\/p>\n

Ashkenazi concluiu sua mensagem com o trecho do Kadish, uma ora\u00e7\u00e3o judaica que dedicamos aos nossos entes queridos. \u201cAquele que estabelece a paz nos c\u00e9us, consolidar\u00e1 a paz sobre n\u00f3s e sobre todo Israel\u201d, escreveu o chanceler israelense.<\/p>\n

Bin Zayed por sua vez, ao final de sua mensagem escreveu: \u201cnever again\u201d, nunca mais em ingl\u00eas, mas mais do que isso, uma promessa de que o holocausto nunca mais acontecer\u00e1.<\/p>\n
