A pocos dias de su presentación ante el Congreso estadounidense para intentar convencer al Parlamento de dar marcha atrás con un posible acuerdo nuclear entre las potencias mundiales e Irán, el Primer Ministro israelí, Binyamin Netanyahu, aseguró que «este Irán es el que anunció abiertamente su intención de destruir a Israel. Desafortunadamente, este acuerdo refuerza nuestros temores». Sobre su discurso, destacó: «Puede ser la última chance para bloquear el pacto».
