El presidente israelí, Reuven Rivlin, en una reunión con el embajador estadounidense en Israel, Dan Shapiro, destacó la importancia de un retorno a las negociaciones directas con la Autoridad Palestina (AP) y advirtió sobre las consecuencias negativas de las iniciativas internacionales unilaterales para resolver el conflicto palestino-israelí.
La Autoridad Palestina se unió oficialmente a la Corte Penal Internacional en abril, con el objetivo de presentar cargos por crímenes de guerra contra Israel. En su reunión con Shapiro, Rivlin también expresó su preocupación por el acuerdo nuclear emergente entre las potencias mundiales e Irán, informó Israel Hayom.
