El embajador de los Estados Unidos en Israel, David Friedman, y el primer ministro israelí, Benjamin Netanyahu, recorrieron el sur de Israel donde se acaba de desplegar el sistema de Defensa del Área de Alta Altitud Terminal (THAAD).

El sistema THAAD, anteriormente conocido como Theatre High Altitude Area Defense, es un sistema de defensa contra misiles antibalísticos desarrollado por los EE. UU. capaz de derribar misiles balísticos de corto, medio y largo alcance.
