El 29 de marzo, el terrorista palestino Diaa Hamarsheh asesinó a cinco israelíes en un tiroteo en el suburbio de Bnei Brak en Tel Aviv. Hamarsheh fue abatido a tiros por la policía en el lugar.
Su tía, Rim Hamarsheh, dijo en una entrevista que la familia está triste porque se ha ido pero feliz de que sea un mártir.
Al pedirle a Alá que esté «complacido» con Hamarsheh, elogió su confianza durante el ataque e insistió: «No todos poseen este tipo de coraje».
