Al menos 34 personas fueron asesinadas y docenas resultaron heridas en dos ataques que sacudieron el subte y aeropuerto de Bruselas, B\u00e9lgica, esta ma\u00f1ana. Pierre Meys, vocero de los bomberos de la ciudad, dijo que 14 personas fallecieron en un ataque suicida en el aeropuerto y que una \u201cexplosi\u00f3n enorme\u201d en la estaci\u00f3n de subte Maalbeek mat\u00f3 a aproximadamente otras 20 personas.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Entre las v\u00edctimas heridas se encuentra un hombre israel\u00ed de Jerusalem que se encontraba en el aeropuerto en el momento del atentado, inform\u00f3 la canciller\u00eda de Israel. Tuvo heridas leves y sufri\u00f3 una herida en un pie. Recibi\u00f3 asistencia m\u00e9dica en el lugar y no tuvo que ser transportado a ning\u00fan hospital. Todav\u00eda no se ha dado a conocer su nombre.<\/p>\n

Meys destac\u00f3 que el n\u00famero de muertos era un conteo \u201cinicial\u201d y advirti\u00f3 que \u201cun techo falso colaps\u00f3 con mucha goma, por lo que podr\u00eda haber m\u00e1s v\u00edctimas\u201d. Las autoridades belgas definieron las explosiones como ataques terroristas y el sistema de transporte p\u00fablico en la ciudad qued\u00f3 cerrado, inform\u00f3 el medio israle\u00ed The Times of Israel.<\/p>\n

El primer ministro belga, Charles Michel, habl\u00f3 en cadena nacional y describi\u00f3 a los ataques como \u201cciegos, violentos y cobardes\u201d. Por su parte, el ministro del Interior del pa\u00eds, Jan Jambon, anunci\u00f3 que la amenaza terrorista en el pa\u00eds hab\u00eda subido del nivel tres a su nivel cuatro, el m\u00e1ximo. Ning\u00fan grupo se hizo responsable del ataque.<\/p>\n

En Maalbek comenz\u00f3 a salir humo negro de la entrada del metro, que se encuentra a cien metros de la Comisi\u00f3n Europea, el brazo ejecutivo de la Uni\u00f3n Europea. Se vio a m\u00e1s de una docena de personas en la calle con las caras ensangrentadas.<\/p>\n
