Dice el refr\u00e1n que la historia la escriben los ganadores, pero la realidad no siempre es as\u00ed.<\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n

La primera batalla documentada, la de Qadesh del 1274 a.e.c. entre el fara\u00f3n egipcio Rams\u00e9s II y el rey hitita de Muwatalli fue glorificada por ambas potencias de la antig\u00fcedad como una gran victoria propia. Un caso mucho m\u00e1s reciente: Israel gan\u00f3 de forma contundente la Guerra de los Seis D\u00edas de 1967; sin embargo el relato hist\u00f3rico que se ha impuesto no es el de los vencedores sino el de los vencidos.<\/p>\n

Cincuenta a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s se sigue hablando de \u201cterritorios ocupados\u201d cuando, para serlos, deber\u00edan haber pertenecido antes a un estado, mientras que lo que se \u201ccaptur\u00f3\u201d fueron unos \u201cterritorios ocupados\u201d militarmente por pa\u00edses que invadieron otro creado por decisi\u00f3n de Naciones Unidas. La \u201cocupaci\u00f3n\u201d s\u00ed que es tal en el caso de los Altos del Gol\u00e1n que pertenec\u00edan a Siria, pa\u00eds con el que no se ha firmado la paz. Pero \u00e9sta no es la \u201chistoria\u201d que cuentan los medios y muchos pol\u00edticos.<\/p>\n

Puede que en la mayor\u00eda de los casos el relato que se imponga sea el de los vencedores, pero la historia no est\u00e1 consolidada aunque quede tallada en la piedra.<\/p>\n

Es justamente en per\u00edodos aparentemente estables cuando la ret\u00f3rica del derrotado vuelve a centrar el foco de atenci\u00f3n y se impone el revisionismo. Los primeros en caer son los bustos de los h\u00e9roes del pasado para erigir semblantes mucho m\u00e1s favorables y humanos de los monstruos de ayer.<\/p>\n

En Europa hemos pasado casi sin notarlo de la muy minoritaria presencia de nost\u00e1lgicos de \u00e9pocas totalitarias y de negacionistas de sus atrocidades, a un apoyo amplio y justificativo de sus tesis y acciones, incluido el racismo, la discriminaci\u00f3n y el genocidio. Es lo que se llama una \u201cnarrativa\u201d, palabra que ha pasado de ser un g\u00e9nero literario de ficci\u00f3n, a disfrazarse de ciencia hist\u00f3rica que pretende persuadir de \u201crealidades\u201d alternativas.<\/p>\n

Es muy sencillo falsificar la historia y hasta robarla en beneficio de una empresa con la que no tiene vinculaci\u00f3n alguna. Por ejemplo, los nacionalismos suelen apropiarse de personajes y hechos relevantes para atribuirles una cuna intencionadamente oculta por \u201clos vencedores\u201d. En la narrativa palestina se llega al extremo de robar la historia del propio enemigo, creando holocaustos particulares o convenciendo incluso a pa\u00edses aparentemente cultos e inmunes a las patra\u00f1as de que la tierra de Israel, Jerusal\u00e9n o el propio Kotel (el llamado Muro de las Lamentaciones) no tienen nada que ver con los jud\u00edos.<\/p>\n

No debemos seguir permitiendo que los libros de texto y los medios de comunicaci\u00f3n al servicio de estas ideolog\u00edas sustituyan los hechos por cuentos chinos, la historia por la ficci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
