Beber jugo de granada podr\u00eda reducir el riesgo de nacimiento prematuro y da\u00f1o cerebral en los fetos, seg\u00fan demostr\u00f3 un estudio israel\u00ed preliminar realizado en roedores.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Las infecciones y la inflamaci\u00f3n en el \u00fatero pueden provocar nacimientos prematuros y da\u00f1ar el cerebro de los fetos. Algunas mujeres corren un riesgo particular de desarrollar inflamaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

\u201cLos estudios han demostrado que las granadas son ricas en polifenoles (un tipo de compuestos neutralizantes de radicales libres), que tienen fuertes efectos antioxidantes y antiinflamatorios que ayudan a proteger contra las enfermedades cardiovasculares\u201d, expres\u00f3 el profesor Ron Beloosesky, director de la Unidad de Obstetricia y Ginecolog\u00eda en el Hospital Rambam, que realiz\u00f3 el estudio en cooperaci\u00f3n con el Instituto de Tecnolog\u00eda Technion de Israel.<\/p>\n

\u201cDebido a que sabemos que algunas causas de da\u00f1o cerebral en fetos est\u00e1n relacionadas con procesos inflamatorios, pensamos probar si beber jugo de granada podr\u00eda ayudar a prevenir la infecci\u00f3n y la inflamaci\u00f3n en la madre y as\u00ed reducir el riesgo de da\u00f1ar al feto.\u201d<\/p>\n

El estudio fue publicado en el American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology.<\/p>\n

La investigaci\u00f3n demostr\u00f3 que las propiedades antiinflamatorias de las granadas reduc\u00edan la inflamaci\u00f3n en las ratas gestantes y en sus fetos.<\/p>\n

Las ratas expuestas a procesos inflamatorios despu\u00e9s de varios d\u00edas de beber jugo de granada continuaron mostrando niveles significativamente reducidos de inflamaci\u00f3n en las madres y fetos, as\u00ed como menos signos de da\u00f1o cerebral a este \u00faltimo.<\/p>\n

Las ratas a las que no se les hab\u00eda dado jugo de granada no mostraron tal mejora.<\/p>\n

Los investigadores dijeron que planean avanzar con el estudio, debido a que todav\u00eda no est\u00e1 determinado si los humanos tendr\u00edan las mismas reacciones que las ratas.<\/p>\n
