El Ministerio de Defensa comenz\u00f3 a preparar la adquisici\u00f3n de un sistema m\u00e1s barato y eficiente que el Iron Dome.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

El Ministerio de Defensa anunci\u00f3 que buscar\u00e1 adquirir un sistema experimental de defensa de cohetes basado en l\u00e1ser de alta tecnolog\u00eda.<\/p>\n

El acuerdo ser\u00e1 con el contratista de defensa estatal Rafael Advanced Defense Systems. \u00c9ste suministrar\u00eda a la Fuerza A\u00e9rea de Israel los primeros lanzadores l\u00e1ser.<\/p>\n

El sistema l\u00e1ser terrestre, denominado Iron Beam, se plane\u00f3 originalmente para generar un rayo l\u00e1ser de alta potencia con un volumen de aproximadamente 100 kilovatios en un intento por neutralizar una gran cantidad de amenazas a\u00e9reas, incluidos cohetes, proyectiles de mortero, drones y misiles.<\/p>\n

Altos funcionarios de seguridad dijeron que el l\u00e1ser ha demostrado ser m\u00e1s poderoso que el objetivo inicial del equipo del ministerio, sin detallar la cantidad exacta de kilovatios de electricidad con los que opera.<\/p>\n

Los lanzadores terrestres primero podr\u00e1n lanzar rayos l\u00e1ser desde el suelo a distancias de unos 10 km para derribar cohetes disparados desde la Franja de Gaza.<\/p>\n

El nuevo sistema no pretende reemplazar los sistemas de defensa existentes, sino complementarlos. A diferencia de otros sistemas basados \u200b\u200ben misiles, el Iron Beam se puede utilizar para interceptar amenazas sobre territorio enemigo con una capacidad ilimitada, sin depender de la cantidad de misiles interceptores disponibles en stock.<\/p>\n

Tambi\u00e9n se espera que el nuevo sistema sea altamente rentable, ya que cada uso costar\u00eda unos pocos d\u00f3lares en comparaci\u00f3n con un solo misil interceptor Iron Dome.<\/p>\n
