El Centro Mundial para el Recuerdo del Holocausto organiz\u00f3 una ceremonia en honor p\u00f3stumo a Kondratiy y Anna Lakotko de Bielorrusia como Justos de las Naciones.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

El Centro Mundial para el Recuerdo del Holocausto llev\u00f3 a cabo una ceremonia honor\u00edfica p\u00f3stuma a Kondratiy y Anna Lakotko. La pareja bielorrusa fue homenajeada como Justos en las Naciones, ya que arriesgaron sus vidas para salvar a seis jud\u00edos durante el Holocausto.<\/p>\n

Su hijo menor Panteley Lakotko asisti\u00f3 a la ceremonia y acept\u00f3 la medalla en lugar de sus difuntos padres. Tambi\u00e9n dijo presente el presidente de Yad Vashem Dani Dayan, el Embajador de Bielorrusia en Israel Evgeny Vorobyev; Natalia Luksha, hija de Panteley Lakotko y nieta de los Justos de las Naciones; Orit Tatarsky, la nieta del sobreviviente Kalman Kotzer, quien fue rescatado por los Lakotkos; miembros de la Comisi\u00f3n para la Designaci\u00f3n de los Justos de las Naciones; y familiares y amigos de las familias de los sobrevivientes.<\/p>\n

El evento se realiz\u00f3 en el Sal\u00f3n del Recuerdo, en el cual hubo entrega de medalla y certificado, y revelaci\u00f3n de los nombres de Kondratiy y Anna Lakotko en el Muro de Honor. El mismo est\u00e1 en el Jard\u00edn de los Justos en las Naciones en Yad Vashem en el Monte del Recuerdo.<\/p>\n

Por su parte, la ceremonia conmemorativa se llev\u00f3 a cabo en hebreo con traducci\u00f3n simult\u00e1nea al ruso. En la misma se dio a conocer la historia de la pareja, la cual se crio en el pueblo de Pagkov-Pug, Bielorrusia, y ambos proced\u00edan de familias campesinas.<\/p>\n

Kondratiy no ten\u00eda educaci\u00f3n, mientras que Anna hab\u00eda terminado cuatro a\u00f1os en la escuela parroquial local. Como pareja, trabajaron su propia tierra, pero tras la uni\u00f3n del este polaco a la URSS, los Lakotkos se unieron a una granja colectiva.<\/p>\n

Los Lakotkos escondieron a cuatro jud\u00edos, Icchak Aron con su hermana Gitl, y sus primos Shmuel y Reizl Engel, en sus establos. Los otros que ayudaron fueron los primos Kalman y Shimon Kotzer, quienes se ven\u00edan escondiendo en bosques y campos tras escaparse del gueto de Miory en v\u00edsperas de sus muertes.<\/p>\n

Por culpa del invierno, la lluvia y el fr\u00edo, lo fugitivos buscaron un refugio m\u00e1s c\u00e1lido, pero los rechazaban varios partisanos locales. Los primos Kotzer terminaron en un s\u00f3tano donde se almacenaban patatas, coles y remolachas gracias a la plata que recolectaron previamente.<\/p>\n

Ellos dos, en 1943, como los Aron y los Engel, se unieron a la unidad guerrillera de Vasiliy Sazykin, y lucharon contra los nazis hasta la liberaci\u00f3n del ej\u00e9rcito sovi\u00e9tico en 1944. Luego de la guerra, los seis se mudaron a Israel y Estados Unidos.<\/p>\n
