Facebook has removed Hizbullah’s violent, hateful pages following a series of articles published by MEMRI, the Middle East Media Research Institute. The publicity campaign was aimed at persuading Facebook to close the terrorist group’s pages.

In August, the social networking site closed Hizbullah and Al-Manar TV pages, but the terror group quickly created two more Facebook pages.

MEMRI immediately reported the new pages to the social networking site and publicized them to the media. In addition, the media watchdog reported a page belonging to Hizbullah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, created in October 2011 that had never been shut down.

Facebook removed Nasrallah’s page as well as the two new Hizbullah Al-Manar TV pages. The Lebanon-based television station is linked to the terrorist organization. At the time of their removal, MEMRI reported the two Al-Manar pages had over 1,000 “Likes.”

Nasrallah’s page began on October 21, 2011 with an English-language post that said, “O Allah, Please clean this world from Jewish contamination,” and had more than 3,000 “Likes” when it was shut down by Facebook.
