Pourtant, chaque année, des centaines d’Arabes israéliens se portent volontaires pour servir dans l’armée ou effectuer leur service civil, bien que cela ne soit pas requis par la loi.

In Israel, all citizens have mandatory service in the IDF, with the exception of Israel's Arabic and Aramaic (Christian) communities…yet every year, hundreds of Israeli Arabs volunteer to serve in the army and national service, despite not being required to by law.Recently, there has been an major increase in the number of Christians volunteering to serve in the IDF. We caught up with some of the Israelis from the Aramaic Christian community in Israel to find out why they volunteered to serve:
