Israel’s message to the Gazan population has been that finances that could be going toward a better life for them are instead diverted to terror.

Israel continues to spread the message to Arabs living in the Gaza Strip that their leaders care more about advancing terror than helping the socio-economic development of the residents.

“Hostile elements near and far, attempting to ignite a war, are dragging you into violence and destroying the stability and security of your home,” wrote the Israeli Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories Maj.-Gen. Kamil Abu Rukun in an Arabic-language message which he posted on his Facebook page on Monday.

“Islamic Jihad, in the service of Iran, is causing destabilization again and again and harming the security of the area,” he wrote, telling the Gazan population: “You are the ones who will suffer the consequences.”

Israel faces the threat posed by Iran, not only through Tehran’s efforts to develop a nuclear weapons program, but also through conventional terror by assisting Hamas and Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip, Hezbollah in Lebanon, further destabilizing the situation in Syria, and apparently also trying to entrench in Iraqi territory.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly vowed to fight Iranian entrenchment.

In August 2017 Yehiyeh Sinwar, Hamas’ new leader in the Gaza Strip, announced that his terror group had restored relations with Iran

After rockets were again fired by terrorists at Israel on Sunday, the Israeli coordinator of government activities wrote to the civilians in Gaza:“Fire directed at Israel, and at Israeli citizens will bring the appropriate response. Israel will defend its citizens.”

He added that “deteriorating stability and damage to [Israeli] security will bring destruction and harm to the residents of Gaza.”
