“Instead of hearing condemnation from the Palestinian leadership we hear praise for the parents who raise monsters.”

Israel’s Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely on Sunday visited the home of the Salomon family in the community of Halamish (Neve Tzuf) in Samaria, where three of the family members, a father and his two children, were murdered by a Palestinian terrorist.

The brutal murder, in which Yosef Salomon, 70, and his children Chaya Salomon, 46, and Elad Salomon, 36, were murdered, occurred as the family was enjoying their Sabbath meal and gathering to celebrate the birth of a new grandson.

During her visit, Hotovely appealed to the international community, calling on it to pressure the Palestinian leadership to cease incitement against Israel, which she says caused the terror attack.

“It is a mistake to compare this bloody massacre in Neve Tzuf which was the direct result of rampant incitement to the security measures taken at the Temple Mount,” she said, referring to metal detectors installed on the Temple Mount in wake of yet another recent terror attack that left two Israeli policemen dead.

“Whereas the massacre of the Salomon family is a direct result of incitement by the Palestinian Authority, Israel’s security measures at the Temple Mount were taken to maintain the safety and security of visitors to the holy site,” she explained. “In this case, Israeli actions were made necessary due to the bloody terror attack that took the life of two Israeli policemen,” Hotovely added.

She stressed that Palestinian terrorism did not commence with the introduction of the metal detectors on the Temple Mount last week.

“We are witness to the pattern of vicious murder [at] the hands of Palestinians for the past century, and instead of hearing condemnation from the Palestinian leadership we hear praise for the parents who raise monsters,” she stated.

On Friday, violent Palestinian rioting erupted, spurred by inciting rhetoric from the Palestinian Authority (PA) following Israel’s installation of metal detectors at the entrances to the Temple Mount.

She called on the international community to “intensify their efforts to pressure the Palestinian Authority to call for a stop to the violence, instead of demanding that Israel removes security measures.”

The Temple Mount has long been used as a place for and the subject of incitement against Jews by Palestinian officials.
