By coming to Israel to perform, often while under pressure from BDS groups to cancel, artists and musicians like Robert Cray show true friendship and professionalism.

Legendary American blues guitarist and singer Robert Cray is on his way to perform in Israel. Cray, who is considered a blues icon, is slated to perform twice in Tel Aviv in April.

The Grammy Award winner is credited with reinventing the blues. According to Rolling Stone magazine, Cray’s “distinct razor sharp guitar playing” has “introduced a new generation of mainstream rock fans to the language and form of the blues.”

The music legend leads his own band and has played with musicians Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Jimmie Vaughan and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

The announcement of Cray’s performance comes just days after hundreds of British artists signed a letter in which they declared they were joining a cultural boycott of Israel. Despite this anti-Israel act, many musicians choose to continue to perform in the Holy Land.

This will be Cray’s first performance in Israel.
