Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s board of directors on Wednesday at his office in Jerusalem.

Among those attending the morning meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office were AIPAC President Michael Tuchin, Executive Director Howard Kohr and Israel Director Cameron Brown, as well as members of the board.

During the meeting, Netanyahu stressed the need to expand regional peace, and reiterated his call for Western unity in the face of the Iranian threat. He also thanked the board for their work in strengthening U.S.-Israeli relations and support for the State of Israel.

“Superpowers need alliances. So a small country like Israel definitely needs alliances,” he said.

Regarding Iran, he reiterated his statement to the AIPAC Political Leadership Forum in January that Israel and the United States, together with other countries, must prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

During that address, he said, “The time has come for Israel and the United States, along with other countries, to stand together, and I look forward to discussing this with President Biden and his team.”
