“The president will be warmly welcomed here as a great friend of Israel and as is customary for the leader of our greatest ally, the United States,” Netanyahu said ahead of Trump’s visit to Israel.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed great enthusiasm ahead of US President Donald Trump’s visit to the Jewish State, scheduled for May 22.
Speaking at the start of the weekly Cabinet meeting on Sunday, Netanyahu remarked that “in two weeks, the State of Israel will host US President Donald Trump and his wife on his first trip as President outside the United States. The President will be warmly welcomed here as a great friend of Israel and as is customary for the leader of our greatest ally, the United States.”
Netanyahu also said that Trump was examining ways of renewing the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians. “I share in this desire as do the citizens of Israel. We want peace,” the premier stated.
He them slammed the Palestinians for their counter-peace conduct.
PM Slams Abbas’ Lies
“We are also educating our children for peace. I heard Abu Mazen [Palestinian Authority head Mahmoud Abbas], who praises terrorists and pays them according to the severity of the murders they committed against Israelis; I heard Abu Mazen say that the Palestinians are also educating their children for peace. I regret that this is simply incorrect.”
Abbas, at a joint press conference Wednesday with Trump in Washington, claimed that children raised in the PA-administered areas of Judea and Samaria are taught values of peace.
“I affirm to you that we are raising our youth, our children, our grandchildren on a culture of peace,” Abbas said, notwithstanding the anti-Israel hate and incitement to violence prevalent in Palestinian schools, media and cultural events.
Indeed, the PA incitement to murder Jews begins from early childhood with children’s toys, entertainment, video games, public education, social media and general Palestinian culture. Palestinian streets, squares and cultural institutions are frequently named after terrorists with blood on their hands.
On his first trip abroad as president, Trump plans to visit Saudi Arabia, Israel and the Vatican.
“Tolerance is the cornerstone of peace,” Trump said as he announced his planned travel to “Saudi Arabia, then Israel, and then to a place that my cardinals love very much, Rome.”
Trump will then travel to Brussels for a NATO meeting, followed by Sicily for a meeting of the G-7 nations before returning to the US.
