The Islamic Republic detained three citizens who accidentally used a photo of Israel soldiers in a pro-regime billboard.

Iran’s semi-official ISNA news agency reports that authorities have detained three people after they used a photo of Israeli soldiers on a billboard in southern Iran to commemorate the Iran-Iraq war.

The banner shows the backs of three male Israeli soldiers standing on top of a hillside. The original photo had a fourth soldier, a female, whose image was removed.

The image, apparently used by mistake, circulated on Iranian social media and some recognized that the soldiers are Israeli because they carry M-16 rifles, which the Iranian military does not use.

Iran continuously threatens to destroy Israel and finances terror groups like Hamas and Hezbollah that attack Israel.

The Friday report quotes Ali Salehi, judiciary chief of Shiraz, as saying prosecutors are in the preliminary investigation stage of the case.

Relations between Iran and Israel are at an all-time low after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed on Thursday what he described as a covert atomic facility in Tehran.

“What I’m about to say has not been shared publicly before,” Netanyahu said. “Today, I am disclosing for the first time that Iran has a secret atomic warehouse in Tehran for storing massive amounts of equipment and material from Iran’s secret nuclear weapons program.”

In April, the Israeli premiere revealed a wealth of evidence he said related to the Iranian regime’s Project Amad, a covert nuclear program, showing the danger posed by Iranian aggression. According to Israel, the evidence was extracted from Iran in a daring raid performed by Mossad agents.
