“Resistance is continuing until the occupation is removed,” Ahed Tamimi, 17, who served eight months in prison for assaulting an IDF soldier and returned home to a hero’s welcome, declared at a press conference upon her release.

Ahed Tamimi, the “Pallywood” star who in December was given an eight-month prison sentence in Israel for slapping and punching an IDF soldier, has returned home to a hero’s welcome.

Her first stop was a visit to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who called her a “model for the Palestinian struggle.”

“Resistance is continuing until the ‘occupation’ is removed,” Ahed declared at a press conference outside her home village of Nabi Saleh. She also praised the strength of female Palestinian prisoners.

The entire Tamimi clan is known for violent activities.

She was released together with her mother Nariman, who had been charged with assault and five additional counts of rock-throwing, participating in disturbances, threats and incitement.

Ahed’s father Bassam was arrested numerous times for rioting and incitement to terror. He is now barred from traveling abroad.

Ahlam Tamimi, a cousin, was a member of the Hamas terrorist cell that carried out the August 2001 bombing of the Sbarro restaurant in Jerusalem, which claimed 15 victims.
