The IDF’s new chief medical officer, a Druze, praises the Israeli military’s commitment to saving lives – not only in Israel, but also abroad.

Brig. Gen. Dr. Tarif Bader this month became the IDF’s chief medical officer, marking the first time in Israel’s history that the position is held by a Druze officer.

Bader headed the IDF’s medical mission to treat Syrians on Israel’s northern border, victims of the ongoing civil war, as well as in previous years as commander of three humanitarian delegations in countries suffering natural disasters.

Israeli Druze have attained top positions in politics and public service.
