Jews are redeeming ancient Jewish properties in Israel through land purchases. Learn about the first one!

Throughout Jewish history, Jews were forced to flee their homes during pogroms and invasions, never once being compensated for their lost properties.

Such was the case when Arab mobs forced Jews out of Hebron in 1929 and when the Jordanian army forced Jews out the Old City of Jerusalem in 1948.

When Israel freed Hebron and Jerusalem in the Six Day War in 1967, no revenge was taken. Arabs who occupied Jewish homes and even synagogues were allowed to remain, unless, of course, they agreed to sell their homes to Jews.

Learn about the very first property in the Old City to be “redeemed,” helping to make the dream of rebuilding Jerusalem a reality.
