WATCH: IDF vs. ISIS at the Israeli-Syrian Border

The IDF is closely monitoring the Syrian border for ISIS activity and recently eliminated a serious threat.

Only a few dozen meters into Syrian territory, ISIS’s new caliphate in the southwestern section of the Syrian Golan Heights was visible to courageous IDF soldiers who opened the border gate to enemy territory.

The confrontation that ensued was the first of its kind and ended with no casualties on the Israeli side.

The IDF had noticed increased ISIS activity over the past couple of months. That was a red flag. The ISIS outpost in that location was particularly dangerous, being so close to the Israeli border, and it would be easy for the enemy to jump on to the other side.

The threat was eliminated, but more confrontations are certain to occur.
