When gangs of violent rioters take over the streets of a neighborhood in the name of a so-called “political cause,” law enforcement may feel the need to retreat from the neighborhoods, causing law and order to break down.
Those same gangs are then able to extort local businesses while blocking police from investigating thefts and assaults and even from entering to put out fires and carry out infrastructure work.
Israeli police therefore work hard to ensure that law and order prevails in all Israeli neighborhoods, regardless of whether the area is Jewish or Arab.
In this video, Israeli police officers can be seen carrying out activities on a recent night in which 51 people were arrested for violent riots, including throwing stones and Molotov cocktails, in an Arab neighborhood of Jerusalem.
On that very same night, as seen in the video, Israeli police were guarding infrastructure workers who were making improvements to the same neighborhood.
