Bahrain’s first envoy to Israel, Ambassador Khaled Yousif al-Jalahmah, arrived in Israel on Tuesday to take up his post.

The move comes one year after the signing of the Abraham Accords, which normalized Israel’s relations with Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.

Israel plans to open an embassy in Manama by the end of 2021.

Bahraini journalist and geopolitical analyst Abdulla Aljenaid discussed the Gulf state’s ties with Israel.
