The common misconception is that all of Gaza lays in ruins. While it is true that Hamas redirects funds meant for the Palestinian civilian population for terror activities instead, at the same time it has built some beautiful areas.

A new Hamas video – produced for the upcoming local elections – shows Gaza as a place of impressive buildings, new neighborhoods, wide parks, lakes, plazas, sun-drenches beaches and smiling people holding up signs reading, “Thank you Hamas.”

The world needs to stop thinking of Gaza as a poor and rundown place.

At the same time, we need to pressure Hamas to end the theft of humanitarian aid that comes in, so the rest of Gaza can look as beautiful as the areas in this video do.
