Israeli-founded companies BeeHero (technology for healthier commercial beehives), Orca Security (agentless cloud security), Snyk (app security products for developers) and Wiz (cloud cybersecurity) appear on the 2023 CNBC Disruptor 50 list.
Each of these companies has its official headquarters in the United States and R&D in Israel.
Although three of the four Israeli companies on the list are in the cybersecurity industry, the 2023 Disruptor 50 List includes standouts from sectors including healthcare, energy, supply chain and finance.
“It’s a strange time to be a venture-backed private startup,” CNBC’s editors acknowledge in describing how its advisory board chose private companies to spotlight for achievements in “chasing some of the market’s biggest opportunities, and growing despite a tough capital markets environment and slowing economy.”
Noting that “breakthrough ideas are being born and showing their ability to quickly upend markets and incumbent companies” despite the downturn, the editors suggest that “crises often serve as the breeding ground for disruptive innovations, as consumers and enterprises look for ways to leverage technology to be more efficient, or to solve new problems.”
