A week after UNESCO passed a resolution denying the Jewish people’s connection to the Western Wall and the Temple Mount, the biased organization will vote again, this time through its World Heritage Committee, on another anti-Semitic resolution.
The 40th session of the World Heritage Committee will meet again at UNESCO headquarters in Paris to vote on another anti-Semitic resolution denying any Jewish connection to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.
While Irina Bokova, the head of the UN cultural agency, vowed to combat efforts to undermine Israel’s right to exist, she has no power over the member states and her opposition to the resolution isn’t enough to stop the vote.
The 21 nations that will vote on the text are: Angola, Azerbaijan, Burkina Faso, Croatia, Cuba, Finland, Indonesia, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea, Tunisia, Turkey, United Republic of Tanzania, Vietnam and Zimbabwe.
Jordan and the Palestinian Authority are now threatening that if there is opposition to the resolution, they will work to pass even more anti-Israel resolutions.
Last week, UNESCO passed a resolution that denies the millennia-old Jewish connection to Jerusalem including the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.
Mexico and Brazil, which both voted in favor of the most recent resolution, have since expressed regret and promised to abstain in future such votes. Italy, which abstained, said it would vote against similar resolutions.
In April, UNESCO approved another resolution denying Jewish historical ties to the Temple Mount.
