If the deal goes through, it could be among the largest exits in Israel’s technology industry.

Amazon could make one of its largest acquisitions in recent years as it holds talks to buy Israeli-founded artificial intelligence company Decart for approximately $7 billion, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The negotiations have not produced a final agreement, although a deal could be reached soon. Decart has previously attracted acquisition interest from Nvidia and Anthropic, but both sets of talks ended without a transaction.

Founded in 2023 by Israeli engineers and brothers Dean and Orian Leitersdorf and Moshe Shalev, Decart is based in San Francisco and specializes in real-time AI video technology and interactive world simulation models.

Its products include Oasis and Lucy, an Nvidia-backed model. Decart has also developed technology that enables software developers to shift workloads between different artificial intelligence chips.

Amazon and Decart already have an existing technology relationship. The startup received early access in 2025 to Trainium3, Amazon’s custom AI chips.

A purchase at the price currently under discussion would represent a substantial increase in Decart’s value. The company was valued at nearly $4 billion in May 2026 after raising more than $400 million from investors including Sequoia Capital, Benchmark and Radical Ventures.

Decart’s rapid increase in valuation has also attracted other major companies in the artificial intelligence sector. Nvidia previously pursued an acquisition before Anthropic, the company behind Claude, entered negotiations with Decart.

Anthropic discussed buying the startup for $6 billion but withdrew from those talks in September 2026.

An acquisition by Amazon at approximately $7 billion would rank among the largest exits in the history of Israel’s technology industry and would also be one of Amazon’s biggest purchases in recent years.

For now, discussions remain active, and Amazon and Decart have not finalized the proposed transaction.
