Richard Lakin, an American-Israeli grandfather, writer and educator, succumbed to his wounds from a recent terror attack in Jerusalem. He was the leading plaintiff in a class-action lawsuit against Facebook for allowing posts that include Palestinian incitement to murder Jews.

Richard Lakin, 76, is the latest victim to have died from his injuries in the current wave of Arab terror sweeping the country.

Two weeks ago, two terrorists – residents of Jerusalem – boarded a Jerusalem intra-city bus and began shooting and stabbing passengers, including Lakin, who was shot in the head and stabbed in the chest. Two other men, ages 78 and 51, died in the same attack, and many others were wounded. Lakin, critically injured, was taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital, where he remained in the intensive care unit until succumbing to his injuries early Tuesday morning.

Coincidentally, Lakin was the leading plaintiff in a class-action lawsuit against Facebook for ignoring posts that include Palestinian incitement to murder Jews. He also promoted peaceful coexistence among all faiths.

An American-Israeli grandfather of eight and resident of Jerusalem, he was a devoted educator and writer. One of two books that he authored was titled: Teaching is an Act of Love.

A former school principal in the US state of Connecticut, he made aliyah (immigration to Israel) with his family three decades ago. Since then, until the terror attack, he was teaching English as a second language.
