Israeli forces on Thursday thwarted a terrorist attack in Kiryat Arba on the outskirts of Hebron in Judea, near the home of Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.
Israel Defense Forces soldiers on routine patrol identified a suspicious individual at the entrance to the city’s Giv’at HaAvot neighborhood, according to the IDF. A search revealed that he was armed with a knife. Under interrogation, the suspect confessed his intention to carry out an attack.
The office of Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said in a statement that the terrorist was “meters” from the minister’s home, and that the minister’s security detail had instructed him not to leave the house, Israeli media reported.

The IDF reported that forces also arrested four wanted suspected terrorist in the villages of Battir, Bayt Fajar and the Elaidev refugee camp.
In the city of Hebron the fighters located and confiscated weapons and ammunition.
Also, overnight IDF and Security Forces worked to secure the entry of worshipers to Joseph’s Tomb in the city of Nablus (Shechem). During the security operation, suspects shot, threw explosives, burned tires, and threw stones at the security forces, who responded with non-lethal measures to disperse demonstrations as well as gun fire.
No Casualties were reported to Israeli forces.
