Comedy Central has chosen an apparent racist and chauvinist to replace Jon Stewart on the popular Daily Show.

Just 24 hours after the Daily Show announced on Monday that Trevor Noah will be replacing Jon Stewart in the host’s seat, Comedy Central’s management came under fire when it came to light that Noah has a habit of tweeting anti-Semitic and anti-Israel jokes, as well as sexist, racist and misogynist remarks.

Hearing about Noah’s appointment, surfers searched the internet to find out more about him, and they did not like what they discovered.

“South Africans know how to recycle like Israel knows how to be peaceful,” the supposed comedian wrote in 2010.

In 2009, Noah, a South African himself, posted: “Almost bumped a Jewish kid crossing the road. He didn’t look b4 crossing but I still would hav felt so bad in my german car!”

Most of his tweets were so distasteful that United with Israel has chosen not to post them here.

The net has been abuzz with criticism. As one tweet sums it up: “I wonder how long it will take @ComedyCentral and @TheDailyShow to realize their new host is a racist.”

Comedy Central has so far declined to make a statement.
