Undercover Border Police officers and IDF soldiers from the elite Duvdevan unit operating in the area of Shechem (Nablus) on Monday morning arrested two suspected of involvement in a shooting attack about a week ago in the Arab village of Huwara, during which two IDF soldiers were wounded.

As reported by Israel National News, a gun battle ensued during the operation. The Palestinian Authority reported that two terrorists were killed, while another was seriously wounded.

The Israeli forces were reportedly forced to leave the scene while facing heavy fire.

The operation came after two IDF soldiers were seriously and moderately wounded in Huwara a little over a week ago, when terrorists fired on a military post from a passing vehicle.

The attack was the third in the village against Israelis within a month.

On Feb. 26, Israeli brothers Hallel Menachem and Yagel Yaakov Yaniv were murdered in a shooting attack in Huwara as they sat in their car at a highway junction in the village.

On March 19 dual Israeli-U.S. citizen, David Stern, 41, was wounded in a shooting attack at the same junction.
