Israeli drivers and their teams entered Saudi Arabia to race in the world-renowned Dakar Rally.

Times are definitely changing in the Middle East!

Israeli drivers recently participated in the Dakar Car Rally in Saudi Arabia, despite the fact that the kingdom purports to maintain a ban on Israelis entering the country.

While the Israelis were listed as representing Belgium, some team members actually entered Saudi Arabia on their Israeli passports, with Saudi officials aware that they were in the country.

Watch and listen to Dr. Nirit Ofir, a Research Fellow, Ezri Center for Gulf Studies, discuss the trip and other future endeavors in the kingdom!
