The IDF eliminated three Hamas Nukhba terrorists in Gaza, including a terrorist who invaded Kibbutz Nir Oz and participated in the kidnapping of Israeli civilians during the October 7 massacre, the military announced Wednesday.

Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed Baraka, a member of Hamas’ elite Nukhba force, was eliminated in an IDF strike in southern Gaza last week.

According to the IDF, Baraka participated in the kidnapping of several Israeli civilians during the October 7 massacre, including the late Alexander Dancyg, who was abducted from Kibbutz Nir Oz.

During the war, Baraka also assisted in holding a number of Israeli hostages in southern Gaza, including Nimrod Cohen, who was kidnapped from his tank near the Gaza border on October 7.

In a separate strike in northern Gaza over the weekend, the IDF eliminated two additional members of Hamas’ military wing: Nukhba platoon commander Omar Awadallah and Nukhba terrorist Muataz Mahmoud Mohammed al-Nimr.

The IDF said the three terrorists had continued to advance attacks against Israeli troops and civilians during the war and, particularly in recent weeks, had been working to rebuild Hamas’ military capabilities.

According to the military, those activities constituted systematic violations of the ceasefire agreement.

The terrorists were eliminated in airstrikes “in order to remove the threat they posed,” the IDF said.

The announcement comes as Israeli forces continue operating against threats in Gaza while deployed in accordance with the ceasefire agreement.

On Tuesday, IDF troops operating in southern Gaza identified a terrorist who crossed the Yellow Line, which marks the boundary of the area under Israeli military control under the agreement.

The military said troops eliminated the terrorist immediately after identifying the crossing in order to remove the threat.

“IDF troops in the Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat,” the military said.

The IDF has repeatedly said that while its forces remain deployed according to the ceasefire framework, they will continue taking action against terrorists who threaten Israeli troops or civilians and against efforts by Hamas to rebuild its military capabilities.
