Hamouda participated in planning the explosive attack that killed four members of a tank crew from the 52nd Battalion on Sept. 8, 2025.

The IDF and Shin Bet announced Wednesday morning that they had eliminated a Hamas Nukhba terrorist involved in planning an explosive attack that killed four Israeli soldiers in the Gaza Strip last year, the latest in a series of targeted strikes against Hamas terrorists this week.
Mousa Abed Mohammed Hamouda, a Nukhba terrorist in Hamas’ military wing, was eliminated in an airstrike in the Gaza City area earlier this week.
According to the IDF and Shin Bet, Hamouda participated in planning the explosive attack that killed four members of a tank crew from the 52nd Battalion on Sept. 8, 2025.
The fallen soldiers were Lt. Matan Abramowitz, Sgt. Amit Aryeh Regev, Staff Sgt. Uri Lamed and Sgt. Gadi Kotal.
The military described Hamouda’s elimination as a significant “closing of the circle” for the IDF’s 162nd Division. The four soldiers were killed while serving under the division during Operation Gideon’s Chariots, and Hamouda was ultimately eliminated by the division’s 215th Artillery Brigade.
The IDF said Hamouda had systematically operated against Israeli forces throughout the war and was involved in terrorist activity targeting troops in Gaza.
More recently, he had been working to plan additional attacks against Israeli troops and civilians and to rebuild Hamas’ military capabilities, actions the IDF said constituted systematic violations of the ceasefire.
His elimination follows two other significant strikes against Hamas terrorists announced Tuesday.
The IDF and Shin Bet announced Tuesday night that Akram Bassam Shaaban Yassin, a senior official in Hamas’ secretive General Security apparatus, had been eliminated in an airstrike in Gaza City earlier that day.
Hamas’ General Security apparatus is responsible for protecting senior Hamas leaders, moving them between emergency hideouts and gathering intelligence, including information on Israeli security forces, to assist the terror group’s leadership in making decisions and carrying out attacks.
The IDF said Yassin had recently been advancing terrorist plots against Israeli forces and civilians while attempting to rebuild Hamas’ military capabilities.
His elimination was part of an ongoing Israeli effort to weaken the General Security apparatus, following strikes approximately four months ago that eliminated other senior officials in the organization.
Earlier Tuesday, the IDF and Shin Bet announced the elimination of Tamer Mohammed Ibrahim al-Saba, a Hamas Nukhba terrorist who participated in the kidnapping of Shani Louk during the Oct. 7 massacre.
Al-Saba infiltrated Israel during the Hamas-led invasion and took part in abducting Louk.
He was eliminated Monday in an airstrike in the Jabalia area.
The IDF and Shin Bet described his elimination as an important “closing of the circle” and vowed to continue pursuing terrorists who participated in the Oct. 7 massacre.
Israeli forces remain deployed in Gaza in accordance with the existing agreement, with the IDF saying it will continue acting to eliminate threats to Israeli troops and civilians.
