A soldier was killed and two others seriously injured when a tank overturned in northern Israel on Sunday, the IDF announced.

The military named the deceased Armored Corps reservist from the 71st Battalion as Sgt. First Class Yinon Fleischman, 31, from Jerusalem.

Sirens were heard in communities surrounding the Gaza Strip on Monday morning, with reports of between 30 to 40 rockets fired at the western Negev city of Netivot. At least two direct impacts were reported in Netivot, with no injuries. Video footage circulating on social media showed Iron Dome interceptions over the city and a destroyed apartment.

Meanwhile, Israel’s ground operations in Gaza continue to expand. Overnight, IDF troops clashed with terrorists in the Hamas-ruled territory.

Israeli forces killed “dozens” of terrorists, who had barricaded themselves in buildings and tunnels and attempted to attack troops, according to the IDF.

An Israeli aircraft guided by troops on the ground struck a Hamas staging post inside a building, with over 20 Hamas operatives inside.

According to the Israeli military more than 600 terror targets in Gaza had been struck in recent days, including weapons depots, anti-tank missile launching positions, hideouts and staging grounds.

IDF forces operating in Gaza overnight also struck armed terrorists and an anti-tank missile launching post in the area of Al-Azhar University, according to the military.

The expanded ground activities in northern Gaza represent the second phase of the IDF’s war to eliminate Hamas as a military and political force in the Gaza Strip.

Israel declared war on Hamas following the terrorist group’s Oct. 7 attack on Israel, during which it killed 1,400 people, wounded over 5,000 and took more than 200 back to Gaza as hostages.

According to the IDF, the families of 239 people have been notified that their loved ones are still being held in Gaza by Hamas.

The Israeli Health Ministry reported that as of Oct. 25, 267 victims of the massacre remained hospitalized

Three terrorists killed in Jenin raid

IDF forces killed three terrorists overnight Sunday during clashes in Jenin in Judea and Samaria, according to Hebrew media reports.

The three were identified as Wiam Iyad Hanon, 27, Amir Abdullah Sharbaji and Nawras Ibrahim Baghawi, 28.

The director of the Jenin Government Hospital said that nine other people were wounded in the clashes.

During the Jenin operation, Israeli forces destroyed roadside bombs, anti-tank weapons and ammunition.

IDF strikes military infrastructure in Syria

Israeli warplanes struck targets in Syria on Sunday in response to rockets launched into the southern Golan Heights, the army said.

Syrian state TV reported that Israeli air strikes had targeted two army posts in Daraa, “causing some material losses.”

Aid continues to enter Gaza

More than 30 aid trucks entered the southern Gaza Strip on Sunday, according to the United Nations.

The U.N. humanitarian organization OCHA announced that at least 33 trucks carrying food, water and medicine had gone into Gaza from Egypt via the Rafah crossing, in the largest aid convoy since limited deliveries resumed on Oct. 21.

A total of 117 trucks have entered the Strip to date, carrying medical supplies and food, the organization said.

On Sunday a U.S. government official said that Israel was committed to allowing 100 aid trucks per day into Gaza, which the United Nations said was needed to meet the basic needs of residents.

Israel on Saturday reopened the second of three water pipelines to the Gaza Strip, allowing for some 7.5 million gallons per day to flow into the Hamas-ruled enclave.
