Top leaders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Iranian Army dismissed suggestions by US President Obama that all options, including the military option, are still on the table in the event Iran violates the nuclear deal with the P5+1.

“We should thank Obama for refreshing us by referring to his ‘Options On The Table’, including the military one; we just relax and laugh at such ridiculous words,” said Brigadier General Mohammad Ali Asoudi, the Supreme Leader’s representative to the IRGC, in a speech to IRGC forces on Wednesday.

“The US and its allies’ war rhetoric is just meant for the American people and the Congress,” Brigadier General Fathollah Jafari, senior advisor to the IRGC commander, said in a separate address. “The Iranian Armed Forces are fully prepared and we will turn Iran into the graves of enemies in case of any possible attack.”

“If the enemy launches any aggression against our territory, it will receive a strong slap across the face by the Iranian Armed Forces,” Commander of Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili said on Wednesday. “Iran’s air defense system is always ready to act upon the Supreme Leader’s order and its finger is always on the trigger and today, thanks to this air defense system, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s airspace is one of the most secure skies in the world,” he added.

On Monday, Commander of Isfahan, Yazd and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari provinces Brigadier General Reza Jahadi Orsi told reporters in Tehran, “The Islamic Republic’s Army is at the highest level of power and will make any aggressor and enemy regret its deeds.”
