Israel made its first official appearance at the Marrakech Airshow in Morocco, with the Defense Ministry opening a national pavilion and leading a delegation of Israeli defense companies at the 2026 exhibition.
The participation marks the first time since the signing of the Abraham Accords that Israel has officially taken part in the Moroccan defense exhibition, as well as the first time the ministry’s International Defense Cooperation Directorate, known as SIBAT, has established an Israeli national pavilion at the event.
Eight Israeli defense companies participated in the exhibition, showcasing technologies that have been tested under operational conditions.
The systems on display included loitering munitions, AI-powered robotic systems, autonomous navigation capabilities for unmanned aerial vehicles, laser guidance technology for FPV drones and satellite communications systems.
Israel’s three largest defense companies, Elbit Systems, Israel Aerospace Industries and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, also maintained displays in the Israeli section of the exhibition, presenting technologies spanning air, land, sea, space, intelligence, cyber and digital warfare.
Five additional companies participated through the national pavilion: ASIO Technologies, Orbit Communication Systems, SHILAT Optronics, UVision Air and XTEND Systems.
The Defense Ministry said the unprecedented Israeli presence in Marrakech is part of a broader effort to expand Israel’s defense exports and deepen security cooperation with countries around the world.
According to the ministry, expanding such partnerships is intended not only to strengthen Israel’s defense industry and economy, but also to support the IDF’s future force buildup and advance Israel’s foreign-policy interests.
Israeli representatives held meetings with government officials and delegations from several countries during the airshow.
“The first Israeli participation in the exhibition in Morocco represents an important milestone for the Defense Ministry and the Israeli defense industry,” said SIBAT Director Brig. Gen. (res.) Yair Kulas.
“The companies exhibiting at the show brought operationally proven technologies alongside innovation in the fields of autonomy, artificial intelligence and communications,” he continued.
Kulas described SIBAT as a “gateway to the Israeli defense ecosystem,” saying the Marrakech exhibition provided an opportunity to expand international defense cooperation and establish long-term partnerships as part of the Defense Ministry’s broader strategy.
