The Israeli military discovered and destroyed another attack tunnel built by Lebanon’s Hezbollah terror group.

So far, Israel has uncovered five tunnels in the open-ended Operation Northern Shield, which seeks to eliminate the entire network of subterranean infiltration passages.

Israel this month announced the discovery of the tunnels, which appear to be part of a Hezbollah attack plot. It began destroying the tunnels last week.

On Wednesday, it exploded the fifth tunnel in the network that it has revealed to the public.

While the army has not said how many tunnels in total have been destroyed so far, it says its forces can work at more than one location simultaneously and that all activity is taking place in Israeli territory.

Israel and the U.N. have demonstrated that the tunnels violate a cease-fire resolution that ended a devastating war between Israel and Hezbollah in 2006.

“The IDF sees the Lebanese government as responsible for the digging of the tunnels and the consequences,” state an IDF spokesman quoted by TPS. He reiterated that digging the tunnels represents a major violation of U.N. Resolution 1701 and of Israeli sovereignty.
